Bassinaud Players are an amateur theatre company based in Juignac in the southern Charente. Typically our productions take place in June and September each year, and in June this year we performed our fifth Shakespeare comedy, the first on our new, purpose-built stage. We are a registered association and welcome new members who wish to get involved on and off-stage.

Our team is made up of passionate and talented individuals, including actors, directors, designers, and technicians. Together, we work tirelessly to bring our productions to life.
We are delighted that our audiences come from far and wide to enjoy our productions. Our performances are in English but we try to make them as accessible as possible.

Bassinaud Players began in 2022 when a group of us got together to put on a one-off production of William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. We, and the audience, enjoyed it so much we decided to put on another play later that year and we've been going ever since.

In 2025 we became a not-for-profit association, registered under the Associations law of July 1, 1901 which guarantees the freedom to form a group for the common good. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be actively involved in achieving our aims.

Bassinaud is the small hamlet where many of our productions take place. Audiences enjoy picnicking in the meadow before taking their place under the trees to watch the performance. Bassinaud is owned by two of our founding members.
